The sports, culture and entertainment industry and the business events industry yesterday spoke with State Secretary Keijzer and Ministers Van Engelshoven, Grapperhaus and Van Rijn about the exceptional and difficult situation in the events sector. While the museums, amusement parks, public transport and shopping centers are allowed to meet one and a half meters of society, the event sector has been subject to an additional limitation of 30 visitors and 100 visitors as of 1 July. The Alliance of Event Builders and the Event Platform are of the opinion that with good precautions and an event protocol more is possible and that customization should be considered. Due to the long-term restrictions, it makes sense that some parts of the industry will also need support after October 1. The industry has been asked to indicate more precisely which financial support is needed in which places. Naturally, the industry is asked to reduce costs where possible and to include this in the calculations.
The industry has established a good protocol for events. With this, the industry shows its own responsibility. The protocol and a risk analysis model also made by the industry form the basis for the organization and the location; both guides are always adapted to developments and new insights. For each event we work on customization, in which the safety and health of the visitor and employee is always paramount. The Cabinet is prepared to explore with the industry the possibility of increasing the number of visitors to events, taking into account matters such as keeping distance, hygiene measures and the impact of events on public transport, for example.
The sector will collaborate with the four ministries in a so-called 'Fieldlab Events', based on the Top Sector Creative Industry. The possibility of developing events in the short, medium and long term is being investigated. For example, a broad collaboration of government, science and industry is working on controlling health and safety risks. This allows for controlled growth and adjustments if necessary. The long-term perspective of industry and society is paramount.
The industry is positive about the conversation, the invitation to talk further about financial compensation and the initiative to jointly investigate what is possible in the event sector.

We continue to work on new initiatives, on protocols, we fight for our existence, holidays are with us for later, much later. Therefore, this appeal to the government to continue with the following points of attention:
