We hope to be a source of inspiration for our visitors to - no matter how small - contribute to the sustainability of the world. About 12 years ago we started researching how our business operations can be made more sustainable. That we can now realize this on a large scale together with Solarfields is a long-held dream come true.

The surface of the sustainable car park covers a total of 35 hectares, providing space for 15,000 cars. Using 90,000 solar panels, the system delivers 35 MWp, which means that some 10,000 households will soon be able to be supplied with green energy. The surface of the sustainable car park covers a total of 35 hectares, providing space for 15,000 cars. Using 90,000 solar panels, the system delivers 35 MWp, which means that some 10,000 households will soon be able to be supplied with green energy. This equals the power consumption of about 100 festival weekends per year. The solar carport remains permanently at this location.

Double use of space

With the help of a roof with solar panels, the cars will soon be covered and the parking lot will simultaneously generate sustainable energy. An important aspect that has been taken into account in the design of the carport is that no capacity for cars is lost. This means that there is an optimal double use of space at this location.
